Everyone has games they love, ones that they remember, and replay time and time again. These are in no particular order.
System Shock : This game was so immersive when it came out, I can remember running out and spending ~$180 to buy a SoundBlaster AWE32 card to get the full impact this game offered. System Shock’s story was engaging, sucking you into wanting to save the other survivors at first, then making you want to go kill off the Murderous Shodan!
Dungeons and Dragons Gold Box Games : First Person movement through the dungeon, then Tactical Isometric combat made this 9 game series one of my favorites. Only the Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale games come close to these for the D&D Franchise. Neverwinter Nights tried, but they never quite emulated the D&D Party feel that the Gold Box Games featured.
More to come.
